NICHS Covid Recovery Service

On receipt of the referral we will make an initial contact to introduce the service and schedule a time for an assessment, this allows us to assess their current situation and how they are coping.  If appropriate they will be invited to join our six-week Self-Management Programme ‘Taking Control’ which we have redesigned specifically for people recovering from COVID-19.  We will address how people are sleeping, how they are exercising, how they are dealing with the difficult emotions that are actually caused by this lockdown period and from having the virus itself.  ‘Taking Control’ will be delivered online via ZOOM, please see attached for further details of the programme.  We have also compiled a comprehensive resource package which our service users can access online, this includes useful videos and information to help the recovery process.

At present the service will be delivered via phone, video call and internet but as lockdown restrictions are relaxed, it is hoped face-to-face interactions will be possible.

Below is a link to a recent BBC press release, included in this article is feedback from one of our new service users who has recently joined our COVID-19 Recovery Service.
