Important Information for Carers
As we are faced with the challenges and changing situation of COVID-19 we are aware that this will be a really anxious time for family carers. While we can’t offer you face-to-face support at the minute via the Carer Support Service we want to highlight the support that is still available for carers from the Belfast Trust.
Trust website
The Trust website has information on the pandemic and information on hospital visiting times and restrictions – you should check daily for updates www.belfasttrust.hscni.net/
Carer Support Service
The Belfast Trust Carer Support Service is a central point of contact where you can be signposted to local support or receive other relevant Carer information. The Service is available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 028 95042126 or email CarerSuppSvcs@belfasttrust.hscni.net.
Carer Mailing List
Family carers can be kept up to date by signing up to the Belfast Trust Carer Mailing List – email CarerSuppSvcs@belfasttrust.hscni.net to request a form. During these difficult times we have been forwarding carers regular information on how to keep themselves well and information about practical support including home food deliveries.
Named Worker
Clients known to services may have a named worker, this may be a social worker, community support worker, specialist nurse or Occupational Therapist. Any concerns regarding the cared for person, the first point of contact should be their named worker. The named worker will know the family situation best and is therefore best placed to assess any changes or developments. If Carers do not have a named worker they can contact the Carer Support Service on 028 95042126 for advice and support.
