EBCDA Membership
Introduction
Membership of EBCDA runs from 1st September 2022 through to 31st August 2025. Previous membership will terminate on 31st August 2022.
Full Membership
This is open to all fully constituted community, youth and local church based organisations within the East Belfast area (including those areas of Castlereagh deemed to be in East Belfast).
As a full member, you will be entitled to vote at all AGMs and EGMs of EBCDA which include nominating and electing the Board of Directors and agreeing our strategy, major changes in policy and constitution issues. If your group are applying for full membership you must include your Charity Commission for Northern Ireland registration number or tick the box to indicate your group is in the process of being registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
Associate Membership
This is open to all statutory agencies, other voluntary agencies, individuals and others with an active interest in the communities of East Belfast
Associate members do not have any voting rights and cannot nominate to the Board. Associate members may be co-opted to the Board if the Board feels they have special skills to offer us.
Membership Benefits
As a network and resource organisation, EBCDA wants the opportunity to communicate with the community sector in East Belfast on a regular basis. Whilst there are specific legal rules we must adhere to for full membership and associate membership, we wish to communicate with everyone who has an interest or affect on the community sector in East Belfast; to this end we offer the following to you as a member:
- Full members can nominate, participate and elect the EBCDA Board of Directors.
- Monthly email bulletins with information about projects, events and funding opportunities
- Competitive rates when hiring meeting and event space in East Belfast Network Centre
- Opportunity to participate in conferences/seminars/debates and consultations about the community sector in Northern Ireland.
- Be involved in shaping policy and effecting change of the sector in East Belfast and beyond
- Opportunity to be involved in consultations from Government departments related to the community sector.
- Support and guide EBCDA, in its role as an advocate for the community sector in East Belfast, through our involvement in the wider NI and UK networks.
- Be involved in an active network within the community sector in East Belfast
