East Belfast Community Development Agency

EBCDA’s Health Connections and Development Programme, East Belfast Lay Health Information Worker Network and Total Respect Foundation ran a successful event at Connswater Shopping Centre on Saturday 26th September 2009.

The event was used both to showcase the excellent work that the latter organisations have been doing to promote health issues in East Belfast and also to recruit new volunteers to come on board with the Lay Health Information network in the future.

Multiple Health checks were carried out at the event, the complementary therapists were inundated and the Glentoran players were on hand to meet the public and hand out signed footballs to the kids. A face painter and balloon modeller was also on site to amuse the little ones.

Local PUP councillor and GP Dr John Kyle from Holywood Arches Surgery was also on hand to cut the ribbon alongside the Glentoran players to open the event and address the media on health issues.
